bakery

  • Our most popular cake size is a 9-inch and that serves 25 people. For smaller gatherings, a 6-inch is perfect for a group of 10. For larger cakes, sheet cakes, and tiered cakes, check out our cake serving guide here.

  • We have over 40 treats available each day and those items can change throughout the day as we sell out of some items and our bakers bring out new items. We cannot go over all of these items on the phone or via email - it would take a LONG time πŸ˜‚ - so the best way to find out what we have is by stopping by the bakery!

Check out our list of types of items and flavors that we’ve done in the past.

If there’s a specific item you are looking for (ex. Oatmeal cream pie), you are welcome to call the bakery and we will let you know if we have it at that moment!

  • Yes! We fry our jacks fresh throughout the day in batches of 10-15 per flavor. If you’d like more than we currently have made, we’re happy to fry them for you as long as you’re willing to wait about 15 minutes for us to get them made.

  • We do not currently take orders for custom cookies - Stacy is the only baker that makes these and these sets take multiple hours over several days, which is not feasible for us right now in our growing little business!

We DO sometimes offer pre-designed decorated cookie sets during the holidays + we also offer cookie decorating classes if you’d like to learn how to decorate your own cookies!

  • Not currently but not because we don’t want to! We bake SO much in our kitchen that there is always flour floating around in the air. Because of this, we cannot safely produce gluten free treats and guarantee no cross contamination. We do not currently make sugar-free or vegan treats, but never say never!

  • Usually we can work with three days notice but there are some dates that we are already booked - especially around the holiday’s so the sooner you can get your order in, the better! The only exception is for weddings - we usually book out at least three months in advance for tiered cakes. If you need a cake with less than three days notice, email Stacy (farmerandthedail@gmail.com) and we will try our best to help if we can fit it in our bake schedule!

  • Yes! You’ll find our full menu of desserts here to make your event or gathering extra sweet! If there’s something that you’d like but don’t see on this menu, feel free to email our Head Baker (linked) to see if it’s something we can accommodate.

  • Unfortunately, no! We’ve made a very intentional decision to put our focus on yummy, best-cake-you-ever-had buttercream cakes. While we offer our signature cakes in many different flavors, we do not take orders for intricately decorated birthday or occasion cakes. We are happy to β€œwatercolor” any cake with vanilla buttercream in up to three colors of your choice + we offer complimentary writing on any of our signature cakes!

  • The minimum for special orders is one dozen per flavor (ex. If you’d like one dozen cupcakes, you can choose one flavor. If you’d like two dozen cupcakes, you can choose two flavors).

kitchen & ordering

  • EVERYTHING! But if you don’t want to go home with about 40 items, definitely go for the apple jacks, cheesecake brownies, caramel pecan pie bar, funfetti cake, and 10-layer chocolate cake. You can’t go wrong no matter what you choose though!

  • We evaluate this on a case-by-case basis for orders of 200+ items. Please email Stacy and she’ll be happy to talk to you to see what kind of discount pay be possible for your event or fundraiser.

We are happy to offer a 10% on all orders placed by Greene County School administration over $200!

  • Unfortunately, no! Case treats are all first come, first serve - it’s the best way for us to keep it fair for customers and ensure that our staff gets treated kindly.

We also have limited counter space so holding lots of boxes for customers that aren’t at the bakery yet gets very cluttered and runs the risk of us accidentally giving your box away - which would be sad for everyone involved!

  • All frozen items such as bake at home biscuit bombs, casseroles, and dips will last six months in the freezer (if you can keep them that long!).

Items like chicken salad and pimento cheese have best by dates on them based on when the product was made. Chicken salad typically lasts 7-10 days and pimento cheese 90 days.

  • As I’m sure you’ve experienced at the grocery store, food costs are crazy right now. Quality ingredients and from scratch fresh food costs. In addition to that, FATD is a small family-owned business that employs over 40 people that we pride ourselves on paying a living wage. With that being said, FATD portions are HUGE so you’re probably getting two meals in one anyway :-)

  • Our shipping program is currently on hold until we move into our new shipping facility! We hope to have that up and running by October 2022 and will begin shipping treat boxes as well as cold/frozen items like biscuit bombs and chicken salad!

  • We do not currently offer full service catering but we do have bulk meals and lunch box options that are available for pick up!

  • We have many items - both sweet and savory - that are nut free, however, we do prepare all items in a kitchen that uses lots of peanut butter + pecans so we do not recommend eating food from our restaurant if you have a severe nut allergy.

  • Typically, no. We are counter-service only with first come, first serve family style seating (aka you get to make new friends!). If you have a group of 15 or more visiting on Tuesday-Thursday, email our Front of House Manager and we will reserve a table(s) for you.

We do not reserve tables Friday and Saturday as those are our busiest days, however we do have over 80 seats (and porch seating!) so usually there’s plenty of room.

  • Absolutely! Tuesday-Saturday, you can place a to-go order online or by phone at 252-747-1392. Keep in mind we serve breakfast until 11:30am and then we serve lunch and dinner through 8pm.

  • For special orders, it’s best to order online, send us an email, or call and leave a message so that one of our staff trained on special orders can give you a call back.

While our front of house staff is trained on greeting customers, and taking their orders for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (all while keeping our sweets display looking stocked and delicious!) - we’d love for you to contact our specialty staff directly to help you get what you’re looking for, faster.

In special circumstances, we may be able to help you with an order with less than 24-hours notice, we ask for 3-days to make sure our staff has adequate time to prepare your order.

  • We don’t know! The beauty of our bakery is that we give our bakers freedom to bake what they want to bake each day. There’s no bake schedule for flavors or varieties, so we really don’t know!

We always have our staple treats such as cheesecake brownies, chewbread, caramel pecan pie bars, and frosted sugar cookies but all else is a surprise every day. It’s what people love about our bakery because they can visit five days in one week and there is something new to choose each day!

*If there’s something you have your heart set on, you can always place a special order (minimum of a dozen) and we are happy to bake it for you!

wholesale

  • We love partnering with local boutiques, coffee shops, cafes, general stores, etc. For more information about our wholesale program, including delivery schedule, delivery minimums, and production options, please visit our Wholesale page to apply to be one of our vendors, or email wholesale@farmerandthedail.com if you have any more questions.

  • We currently deliver every Wednesday and our locations vary week to week based on which businesses order during that time frame. For current delivery locations, head to our Facebook page where we post each Thursday about where our driver’s are going!

  • We currently deliver within a one hour radius of Snow Hill but can deliver further on a case-by-case basis with a delivery fee. If you’d like to pick up in Snow Hill, we are happy to arrange that as well!

  • Not currently but we are working on it! Wholesaling items with meat requires not only Health Department inspection (which we of course have!) but also inspection by the USDA. There are many more rules and regulations involved in that process so we are currently renovating another building in town that will be a dedicated space for wholesale biscuit bomb and chicken salad production. We anticipate this project being finished by October 2022.
